Ordering specimens is easy! If you find a specimen you'd like me to send you, just send me an email. Please include your name, address and phone number, and how you'd prefer to pay for the mineral(s). Let me know if there is an especially good (or bad) time for me to call. I will contact you by phone or email within a day (usually the same day) to work everything out and get your shipment out to you.

Also, you can phone me at 785-550-7656. If you leave me a message, I will get back with you as soon as possible.

In most cases, I will pay the shipping costs, one way, for your order. Exceptions will possibly include very large, heavy shipments, etc. If you decide to return an order, you will need to pick up the shipping/insurance costs.

I do ask that you cover insurance, if you want it (and I strongly recommend it!). I am willing to ship specimens without insurance, but you assume the risk in no-insurance shipments. If the specimen arrives in pieces, then you've bought a box of pieces. I pack very carefully, but I cannot control what happens to a shipment once it leaves my post office.

I prefer to use U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail for most shipments.

Credit cards

I accept Visa and Mastercard payments directly, and this is generally the fastest and safest form of payment. If you'd like to purchase a specimen using a credit card, you can call me at 785-550-7656 to give me your account information. If I miss your call, you can leave the info in a voicemail; it is a secure system that only I have access to. Or, you can just leave me your phone number and I'll call you back to take down the information.

You can also send me your credit card info split up among 2 or 3 separate emails. Contrary to the popular opinion of a few years ago, this is a completely safe and secure method for sending credit card information.

In either case, here is the information you'll need to send:

- Account number
- Name as it appears on your card
- Expiration date
- 3-digit card security code (this appears following your account number on the signature box on the back of your credit card).
- Credit card billing address (If it's different from your shipping address).

PayPal

You can also pay for specimens using PayPal. After you have received the total amount for your order from me, use PayPal to send payment to: kevin@alpineminerals.com.

Western Union

Western Union offers a variety of payment methods and can be a good choice for international payments. Contact me if you would like to use Western Union to make a payment.

Checks and Money Orders

Checks and money orders are also welcome. Once I receive your check, money order, or credit card order I will ship your order to you. By sending a check, you indicate your approval for me to contact your bank to ascertain the availablilty of funds. This is easier and faster than if I deposit your check and wait for it to clear before sending your order. If your bank contact information (phone number) is not imprinted on your check, please send it with your order.

If you would like to discuss other terms of payment, layaway plans, installments, etc., please don't hesitate to ask me. I'll be as flexible as possible in helping you get the minerals that best suit your taste and your collection.

When we do business, my goal is for us both to be happy. You'll always have seven (7) days to examine specimens and make your final decision. If you receive a specimen and decide it's not right for you, you must notify me within seven (7) days of receiving it that you intend to return it. After I have received the specimen(s) back in the same condition as I sent them to you, I will return or destroy your check or money order, or either not charge or refund your credit card.

As a collector and customer, I have often preferred to receive minerals from dealers on a "review," or "approval" basis. I'll be happy to offer the same service to you once we've gotten acquainted. Returning customers may request specimens on review at any time.
